Data protection (walker's data)

Data protection (walker's data)

As a guru, you are responsible for the proper handling of the data that the walker shares with you when booking a tour. This includes their phone number and name, for example. Before making use of this data, we recommend that you read our Privacy Policy.

Remember that the channel we recommend for communicating with walkers is the GuruWalk chat. However, if the walker shares their phone number with you, it is important that you use it in a responsible and professional manner; for example, to send them photos of the meeting point or basic information for the tour they are going to do.

Keep in mind that, according to the Organic Law on Data Protection (LOPD), you cannot contact the walker by phone or WhatsApp once the tour has been completed (and, therefore, once the transaction between the guru and the walker has ended), unless the walker has expressly agreed or requested it. The walker would be entitled to accuse you of misuse of their data, which they provided exclusively for the booking and execution of the tour.

Warning
Violation of the LOPD can lead to legal proceedings between the walker and the guru
This is because it could be considered a misuse of their data, which they provided exclusively for the purpose of booking and conducting the tour.
