How are tours ordered on the city page?

Our computer algorithm sorts the tours by first locating the PRO profiles, which meet the strictest quality requirements, and then the rest of the tours. Once this differentiation has been made, it takes into account factors such as the availability of each guruwalk, the tour attendance rate, traveller recurrence and quality of the advertisement and experience. 
The algorithm will reward those gurus who provide the best service to walkers before, during and after the tour, generating new growth opportunities within our platform for all gurus.

What factors will the new algorithm take into account?

  1. Quality of the advertisement
  2. Tour attendance
  3. Quality of the experience
  4. Traveller recurrence

What can I do to improve my position?

1. Quality of the advertisement.  It takes into account the quality of the tour card and its relevance to what walkers are looking for. To improve your score you should pay attention to:
  1. The quality of the photos of the tour and of your guru profile.
  2. The tour's title.
  3. The tour's description and content.
  4. Schedules, availability and languages offered.

2. Tour attendance. It takes into account the number of final attendees in relation to the initial bookings. To improve your score you should pay attention to:
  1. Communication with the walker before the tour.
  2. Have an accessible and well-explained meeting point.
  3. Update the description of how to find you.
  4. Setting up automatic welcome and reminder messages with relevant information.
  5. Try to avoid cancellations whenever possible, giving priority to offering alternatives and modifying bookings.

3. Quality of the experience. It takes into account the walker's experience during the tour and the opinions they leave after the tour. To improve your score you should pay attention to:
  1. Offering a professional and entertaining experience, the goal is to have a good time.
  2. Complete tour with valuable information.
  3. Involving travellers as much as possible during the tour.
  4. Offering recommendations on what to do in the city, nearby places of interest, restaurants, etc... Doing this through the thank you message is a very simple and efficient way to share these recommendations.
  5. Always try to exceed the walker's expectations. Try to surprise them.

4. Traveller recurrence. It takes into account travellers who rebooked with GuruWalk after taking the tour with you. To improve your score you should pay attention to:
  1. Offering a great tour experience.
  2. Recommend other tours within the platform to complete the visit or for future trips.
  3. Explain what GuruWalk is and that it is in thousands of destinations around the world and has the best guides.
  4. Being brand ambassadors. Wear the GuruWalk logo on visible items such as caps, t-shirts, backpacks, etc.
