Can I book for a large group? 👪

Free tours are generally intended for couples or individual travellers. That is why in the majority of guruwalks, there is a limit of 6 people per booking, since more than that is considered a large group.

If you are booking for a group larger than 6, you should check the section Who is this tour for?", which you will find in the description of your tour. This indicates whether larger bookings are allowed or not:

If your tour does not allow bookings for large groups or more than 6 people, unfortunately, it is not possible to join that tour. This clause is determined directly by the Guru/guide to maintain the quality of the tour or due restrictions of the city, and we cannot intervene in this situation.

Please see below the main reasons why a Guru does not accept bookings for large groups:

☹️ They pay less: They usually make joint payments with smaller amounts per person.

😶‍🌫️ No-shows or late arrivals: This represents a significant loss for the guide, since they block places that are not filled. Other travellers also miss out on these.

💣 Behavioural issues: They pay less attention, talk among themselves and disturb the rest of the group.

Having said that, there are Gurus willing to accept large groups as long as they ensure a minimum payment for their services, they agree to behave accordingly, and have a small guarantee that if you are not going to attend, you will cancel so someone else can book.

If a guru accepts group bookings, you will see an informative screen once you try to book. Your card details will be requested, but GuruWalk will only charge you a small penalty if you do not attend the tour and do not cancel with more than 24 hours in advance. The payment must be made directly to the Guru at the meeting point before starting the Tour.

Under no circumstances will we (GuruWalk) charge you any amount for the tour when you book. This payment will be made directly to the Guru, at the meeting point, right before the starte of the tour.

Remember, if a guru detects a group booking divided in several bookings, they have the right to cancel it prior to the event or at the meeting point. It is crucial that you follow this rule and don’t make different bookings for the same group. These will be detected by the system and the guide has the right to cancel them either prior to the event or as you arrive at the meeting point, which would be extremely uncomfortable for both parties, not to mention the rest of the travellers. Do not risk your booking, plan ahead and follow Guruwalk’s guidelines.
