How long does it take for my tour to be published?

Info
If it’s your first time publishing a tour on GuruWalk, the approval process can take anywhere from a few days to several weeks, depending on the specifics of the destination, the features of the tour, and how complete everything is.

Why can't I see my tour on GuruWalk yet?

  • It's still in "draft"

    • You still have steps left to complete

    • Everything is filled in, but some steps need changes

  • The tour is "under review", but it's not complete

    • You haven't added the itinerary in the correct section:
(Itinerary section, next to the other tour settings)

    • You haven't specified the additional costs of your tour, in case you mentioned in the FAQ that the tour has extra expenses
Example: Museum entrance fee not included. The price is €2

  • The team sent you an email to pause the process for one of these reasons:

    • Your destination requires an official tour guide license and you don't have it

    • Your destination is saturated with providers and we can't accept more at the moment

Your tour will not be reviewed unless it's complete

  • Make sure you've completed the itinerary by adding all the points of interest

  1. If you’ve indicated in the “Frequently Asked Questions” that your tour requires additional payments, make sure to include this detailed information in the tour description:

Types of tour status and what to expect from GuruWalk in each one

Most common tour statuses:

  • Draft

  • Under review

  • Open

  • Closed

  • Archived

How do I know the status of my tour?

You can see the status of your tour in your profile under “My tours,” identified by the label next to its ID (identification number).
If there’s no label and only the ID appears, it means the tour is open.

Tour status and what it means for your tour

  1. Draft

    1. When you start creating your tour
    2. You’re still working on it; some steps are missing
    3. You shouldn't expect communication from the team (though we may reach out with tips)
    4. The tour is not visible to travelers
  1. Under review

    1. You’ve finished editing your tour and submitted it for GuruWalk to review
    2. The “Itinerary” section becomes available — you must complete it for your tour to be approved
    3. The team will let you know if any changes are needed (after everything else is completed)*
*Check your email in case we’ve paused the process for any reason
    4. Approval can take days or even weeks, depending on the destination and tour details
    5. The tour is not visible to travelers (you won’t receive bookings yet)
  1. Open

    1. Your tour has been approved by the GuruWalk team, or you reopened it after closing it
    2. The tour is visible to travelers – you can receive bookings at any moment
    3. You can edit or close your tour at any time
    4. The team may contact you with suggestions or due to quality issues or bad practices

Idea
You can open/close your tour from: My Tours → Edit → Basic Info → Tour statu
  1. Closed

    1. Closed by you temporarily (30 days) or permanently (more than 30 days); you can reopen it anytime
    2. Closed by GuruWalk team; you can’t reopen it
    3. The tour is not visible to travelers (you won’t receive bookings)
    4. You can edit it at any time
WarningImportant if you close the tour:
- Don’t use this option to block specific days — there are other tools for that. [Watch this video to learn more]
- If you have future bookings, they won’t be automatically cancelled — you must manage them to avoid penalties

Archived

  • This status can only be applied by the GuruWalk team

  • The tour is not visible to travelers (you won’t receive bookings)

  • You can edit the tour

  • You can’t open it

How long does it take to approve my tour?

It depends on the needs of the destination and the specifics of your tour, so the review can take longer in some cases.
You might submit your tour for review and then receive an email from the team saying the process has been paused.
Sometimes we need all the information before we can determine whether your tour can be accepted.

If your tour is 100% complete, the review and approval process will be much faster.
Make sure you’ve followed all the steps and used the tips available on the platform. Approval can take from a few days to several weeks.

WarningReaching out to support or any GuruWalk team member won’t speed up the approval process.
