Route and Points of Interest

Route and Points of Interest

What is taken into account in this factor and why is it so important?

  1. The pace of the tour should be adapted to the group. Keeping a medium pace (neither fast nor slow) will keep your group active and will help them follow the guiding thread of your tour much more easily.
  1. The duration of the tour preferred by most walkers is between 2 and 3 hours and a half. However, it is true that there may be exceptions. In this line, it is very important to bear in mind that many of them have little time to enjoy the city and have very fixed schedules, so always remember to keep an updated estimate of the duration of your tour in its description.
  1. Directly related to the points of interest visited during the tour are the stops of this one. Try to find a balance between having too few stops (let's say  two or three stops in a 2 and a half hour tour) and having too many (for example 15 stops in a 1 and a half hour tour). Each tour and destination has its particularities, but try not to forget this aspect. When travelers do a free tour, they expect to visit many of the interesting places in the destination they are traveling to. So, even if you try to differentiate your route from the essential routes, do not forget to take this into account.
Don't forget to list all the points of interest you will visit (including the end point of the route) and to show some of them on the photos. To learn how to add points of interest to your tour click HERE
  1. The size of the group is another factor to take into account within your route. Although this can change depending on the time of the year and depends a lot on the destination and the experience you want to offer, do not forget that the smaller the group, the more personalized the experience will be and, consequently, better satisfaction of your walkers
Recommended size of the group: between 25-30 pax.
  1. The fact that the walkers find the meeting point easily is one of the necessary aspects for a tour to have a good start. Thus, describe in detail on the description of your tour what this meeting point will be and what will be the badge that you will wear to be found. In addition, you can reinforce this information by adding it to your automatic welcome and reminder messages.
Remember to update this information if it changes in the future, otherwise the walker may go to the wrong meeting point.
  1. Always try to exceed the expectations of the walkers. This can be done in many ways, but one of them is taking them to those spots of your city that they would not get to know had not shown themHere you have some tips to create amazing stops and explanations.
  1. Is your route adapted for people with reduced mobility? If so, it is important that you indicate it both in the specific section of frequently asked questions (faqs) and in the description of your tour itself. Remember that you can find the faqs once you are going to edit the tour.

The algorithm will be measuring all the factors constantly so that it is always as up-to-date as possible. Also, as we know that each profile and destination is different, do not hesitate to write to your Account Manager or to the email of gurus@guruwalk.com
