3 tips to reduce traveler no-shows

3 tips to reduce traveler no-shows

Every free tour has a certain percentage of traveler no-shows, but there are several things we can do to minimize them.

1. Set up your 3 automatic messages

Especially the second one, the reminder message. This helps travelers keep your tour in mind. In this message, you can also include tips on how to get to the meeting point or any other information relevant to your tour (wear comfortable shoes, bring an umbrella, water bottle, etc.).

See how to do it.

2. Make sure you and the meeting point are easy to find

  1. Choose a meeting point that’s easy to recognize (not a place that could be confused with similar monuments, statues, etc.)
  2. Avoid very crowded areas (or places with many free tours nearby that could confuse travelers)
  3. Make sure you’re clearly visible and carry something that helps travelers recognize you (a sign, a unique umbrella, a bright backpack, etc.)

3. Share your live location and a photo of yourself

Sometimes travelers arrive late or struggle to find the meeting point.

📍 Use the live location feature so they can see where you are at all times and join the group once they find you.
Tip: Start sharing it about 15 minutes before the tour.

Info
The session closes automatically after 3 hours, unless you deactivate it earlier.

📸 Send a photo of yourself at the meeting point to help them recognize you.

You can find these options within GuruWalk messaging:
📎 Clip icon (bottom left): to send photos and documents.
📍 Pin icon (bottom right): to share live location.

In the example, the guide shared their (now expired) location and sent a photo of the meeting point.
